SUNRISE, Fla. - The National Hockey League announced today that Florida Panthers forward Aleksander Barkov has been named to the Atlantic Division roster for the 2023 NHL All-Star Game, which will be held at FLA Live Arena in Sunrise, Fla., on Saturday, Feb. 4. He will also participate in the NHL All-Star Skills Competition on Friday, Feb. 3. Barkov joins fellow Panthers teammate Matthew Tkachuk at All-Star Weekend.
"We are thrilled that Sasha will be joining Matthew to represent our franchise and South Florida to the hockey world at the 2023 NHL All-Star Weekend," said Panthers General Manager Bill Zito. "Sasha is our leader on the ice and in our locker room, consistently conducting himself in a first-class manner, acting as a mentor to our younger players. He is one of the National Hockey League's best all-around players and is fully deserving of the title of All Star."

Barkov's invitation will mark his second appearance at the NHL All-Star Game and the All-Star Skills Competition, following his selection in 2017-18.
Barkov, 27, has produced 43 points (13-30-43) over 40 games with Florida in 2022-23, the second-most on the team. Although he has missed 10 games with injury this season, Florida's captain has averaged over a point per game and ranks second on the club with 21 points (7-14-21) over 15 games since Dec. 29, 2022, second only to Matthew Tkachuk's 22 points over the same span. He matched his single-game career high in points with five (3-2-5) at FLA Live Arena against Montreal on Dec. 29.
The 6-foot-3, 215-pound native of Tampere, Finland, is the Panthers franchise leader in goals (233), power-play goals (69), even-strength goals (153), game-winning goals (41) and takeaways (527), ranking second in assists (363), points (596) and multi-point games (156) over 636 games played. His 52.2 career faceoff win percentage leads the franchise among those with at least 400 games played with Florida.
